The London-based, creative hair, makeup & FX designer is a compelling artist showcasing her expertise in film, television, music, and commercials. Emma has collaborated with famed and accomplished directors, actors, designers and musicians like actor Rhys Ifans, musician The Weeknd, and fashion designer Stella McCartney. Her work was recognized with a 2017 Best Styling In a Music Video at the UK Music Video Awards – for the video, ‘Tyburn Jig’ by Police Dog Hogan.
Emma is an expert makeup, hairstyling and special effects makeup and prosthetic artist and designer. She is also never afraid of pushing herself to learn more, as she recently said in an interview: “Continuous training is something I value very highly. You can never have too much knowledge. “
Emma studied hair & makeup at the prestigious London College of Fashion, whose past alumni includes fashion designers Jimmy Choo and William Tempest, and her training specializes in film-based hair, makeup and special makeup effects, period makeup and barbering.
On the big screen, some of Emma’s credits include: makeup and hair designer for the film, VS, (an upcoming release), she was featured as the makeup and hair designer and special makeup effects designer on the film, Fanged Up; she served as the makeup and hair designer on the documentary film, Elstree 1976. Emma also continued her work in the multi award-winning short films: Noro, Away From Me, A Stranger Kind, and Chameleon.
In television, Emma was featured as hair and makeup designer on the soon to be aired, Stath Lets Flats and for the series: Midsomer Murders, Loose Women, The Windsors, and Ideas Men.
In music, Emma worked as makeup and hair designer for The Weeknd’s Starboy Tour Visuals, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Disciples’ On My Mind, Years & Years’ Desire ft. Tovelo, Years & Years’ Shine, and Villagers’ Everything I Am Is Yours, Vaults’ Hurricane, Salen’s Diseasy, Placebo’s Too Many Friends, and Tyburn Jig, by Police Dog Hogan.
On the commercial front, Emma performed the role of makeup and hair designer for some of the world’s biggest brands including Sony PS4, Volvic, Jaguar and Burger King.
Emma also states that “Makeup can define what a character has been through.The art of creating a character through makeup, and giving the audience an opportunity to figure out a character’s entire back story just by looking at them, is something that has always compelled me.”
