Q: First of all tell us about the start of Big Condo Records?
Big Condo Records started 8 years ago, we had to spend 3 years from 2012 to 2015 learning how to run a label before we started, so we are actually 11 years in. We spent 2 years on names before we finally settled on Big Condo Records. We wanted a name that would explain all genres, and we feel this has represented this from the start. When we first started, we hit all the hurdles that a news start company would hit but as time has gone on, we have developed to where we are now.
Q: What advice would you give to new artists or bands?
We suggest to new artists to focus on mastering your craft to the best it can be, spend time everyday promoting your music and creating fans and creating content. Figure out who you are and what your brand is about. Remember as a music artist or band you’re a brand just like Pepsi or Coca cola and people need to know what they are getting when they join your community.
Q: When you decide it’s time to make a new record, is that more exciting or stressful?
Working with our artists or private contracts is always exciting, no stress there, very fun times its what we are here for. When working with Big Condo Records your going to get more than just studio time, you will receive mentorship, support, and guidance from industry professionals.
Q: How easy are records to create for you?
All records are different it depends on who the artist or band is, if it’s a rapper a beat maker normally makes the beat so your only just recording vocals, but if your working with folk you will need the artist to record the guitar, they might need a tambourine or a cajon or keys in it. When dealing with bands you need a whole set up as there is a lot of instruments, but its all music all creative and all fun we love all genres, we could talk more about this.
Q: What’s your motto?
The motto is ‘’Big Condo Records We Are the Label’’ as we have created something special here, there isn’t a label like it, and we hail from Liverpool City, known worldwide, woop woop.
Q: What is you favorite song to belt out at the bar/in the car right now?
We are currently listening to a lot of Adele as we have signed a new artist called Clio and she is like mini Adele haha, so listening to a lot of keys music at the minute. Lots of folk music and 80s Rock.
Q :What are your future goals as a record label?
We are looking to achieve as much as we possibly can as a record label, a bustling roster and loads of records including groundbreaking achievements.
Q: What was your most memorable show to date?
The first ever show we did, watching it grow from that to this is touching.
