TASMANIAN ACTRESS MAKES BROADWAY DEBUT

Lilly Dennis is considered a talent to watch as she climbs her way to the top of Hollywood one project at a time.  Now she is also making waves on the other side of the country, by making her Broadway debut in The United Solo Theater Festival.  United Solo is the world’s largest solo theater festival and features award-winning and internationally renowned performers.  Lilly is performing her well renowned one person show Chocoholic in United Solo this year and has created a lot of award buzz over the last year for her show.  The show was directed by the award-winning director Debra Deliso. Chocoholic is a true story about a young woman who is reeling from the grief of losing her husband to cancer and uses chocolate to cope with it.  Not only is this talented actress using her platform to tell a story of truth and meaning but she also using her voice to raise awareness for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  I had the pleasure of seeing a preview of her show in Los Angles recently and it was one of the most honest and moving pieces of theater I have ever seen. After her performance I managed to talk to Lilly about the work she is doing and why she picked St. Jude to support through her performance, “To me theater is the purest form of storytelling and being a part of the theater community has changed my life.  Cancer is also something that has changed my life, so I can’t think of a better way to raise awareness for such an incredible organization than by joining the two together.” You still can get tickets to see Lilly and her show Chocoholic this year on Broadway at telecharge.com.
