Born in Lima, Peru and residing in Los Angeles, Cecilia Noël is a music artist whose eclectic style is a blend of soul, salsa, funk, jazz, and Afro-Cuban traditions. She has been hailed as the Latin Tina Turner and her band The Wild Clams have been praised as “arguably the most potent Latin sound to emerge from Los Angeles in years.” She also happens to be married to famed Men At Work singer/songwriter and front man, Colin Hay.
Her new single “El Perro Callejero” is scheduled for release in May of 2023 -and the album was produced by Grammy Nominee/Latin Grammy Winner Producer – Engineer Jake Carmona, who is also one of the background singers in her band The Wild Clams.
Jake Carmona has been in the music business for nearly twenty years and besides being a gifted singer, composer, producer, recording and mixing engineer he is one of the most skilled audio editors in the industry. His talent and reputation have enabled him to work with many other talented artists who are also well known in the music world. Some of the artists who participated in Cecilia’s newest album are Charlie Paxson (drums), who has worked with Enrique Iglesias, Smash Mouth, Tina Turner and Belinda Carlisle). Lenny Castro (percussion) -who set the beat for Eric Clapton, Toto and John Mayer, Toshi Yanagi (guitar) and Jimmy Earl (bass) -they play in the Jimmy Kimmel Show house band Cleto and the Cletones. Sheila González (Sax) -who worked on Zappa Plays Zappa along with Men At Work. Melanie Taylor (background singer) -who has sung with Dionne Warwick and Aerosmith. There are many more musicians who have lent their artistic expertise to Cecilia’s newest album.
In addition, Cecilia’s new album will include a song entitled “Spanish Goodbye” which will be a duet featuring her husband, Colin Hay.
