Opening its doors this summer for the first time will be a million dollar table tennis and racquetball academy located in Harlem, NY. The US Table Tennis Association (USTTA) has recently announced the hiring of the Trenton, N.J. native and former (U-21) Top-50 ranked player in the USA, Mr. Marques L. Morrison From 1993-1996, Morrison compiled an impressive 3 year amateur record of 48 wins and 7 losses, becoming the first African-American male to rank in the USA Top-50.
At age 17, Morrison earned the invite to compete in the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympic trials. After losing several early matches, Morrison was sent home and did not make the 1996 Atlanta Olympic team.
Morrison currently enjoys introducing and teaching the game to any students that want to learn the game of table tennis at the Monument Elementary School located in his hometown of Trenton.
