Can you tell us about the origins of SAUCE and how the band came together?
The band came together after playing together for a year at school and the band and I just decided to go from there
What can listeners expect from your debut single, particularly with the collaboration with Billy Marchiafava?
Listeners can expect some really unique sounds, especially since we got a grammy awarded producer to mix and master the final mix of the song, and we’re really excited and looking forwards to what’s next
SAUCE has been described as having an innovative sound. Could you elaborate on the unique elements that set your music apart?
We feature a wide variety of instruments and different genres merged into a song. We also like to stack our vocals and take our time mixing them so we can get our perfected vocals
How has each member of the band contributed to creating SAUCE’s distinct musical identity?
Nathan has definitely contributed his fair share of ideas, riffs, and lyrics for songs and is a key part of SAUCE
I (Jackson Pendergist) have been mixing, mastering, studio recording the instrumentals that we put on the songs
Lucas has done a great job playing the bass and is improving every time we practice and is doing great
Chris (aka Yab) has been doing an excellent job on vocals and has also contributed many ideas towards what songs we have practiced, etc
(We all contribute on vocals, but Chris is our main vocalist)
What inspires your songwriting process, and are there any specific themes or messages you aim to convey through your music?
Just listening to our favorite bands/artists inspire us to write and produce songs and we just hope to get a positive message out there, or songs to help people cope with things that they’re going through in their life, because we all go through hard times and hopefully our music can lighten up people’s moods
As a rising music ensemble, what challenges have you encountered in the music industry, and how have you overcome them?
It was hard at first to get our brand and music our their, but once we started to market a little better, we did way better online and have gained enough traction for us to release our new single soon (Aiming for an early 2024 release date)
SAUCE’s passion for music is evident. Can you share a memorable moment or experience that solidified your dedication to pursuing music as a career?
Once we saw how we could actually pursue SAUCE, have fun, and make a living from it, we went for it, and it just felt so great knowing that we could live comfortably with extra money, and be able to have fun while doing it
Could you describe the role that each member plays within the band, both in terms of musical contributions and other responsibilities?
Nathan does the guitar and writes most of the lyrics (although each band members does their fair share too), Jackson (me) produces the songs and records the instrumentals in studio quality instead of the live session quality. Chris (Yab) does a great job on the vocals and contributes many ideas towards the other band members, and Lucas does an amazing job playing the bass and occasionally the guitar
What are your future goals and aspirations for SAUCE, and how do you envision your place in the music industry evolving?
We hope to sign to a bigger label and hope to be able to play more shows for people and we hope in the future we can really get our name and message our their for people to listen to
SAUCE promises to deliver a fresh and exhilarating musical journey. What do you hope your listeners take away from your music, and how do you want to leave a lasting impression on them?
We hope our listeners can really think about our lyrics and be able to easily memorize them to single along too. We hope to leave a good impression for everyone and let them feel accepted into the SAUCE community and we’re really excited for what’s next for SAUCE.
